We've travelled the world extensively, and can hands down say that when it comes to stunning sunsets, the Keys of south Florida is the best place to come. There are of course many other reasons to visit the Keys: the terrific gay scene of Key West, the diving in the many coral reefs, beautiful beaches, and of course the star culinary highlight, the Key Lime pie! But for us, those magnificent sunsets stole the show. The Florida Keys are a string of thousands of tropical islands stretching about miles km off the southern tip of Florida, between the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The Keys begin at the southeastern coast of the Florida peninsula, about 15 miles 24 km south of Miami. They then extend from Key Largo, all the way to Key West, which is the westernmost of the inhabited islands.

The gay community in Key West? - Key West Forum - TripAdvisor
By Andrew Collins. A small city with fewer than 20, residents, Key West does not - despite having a very high percentage of gay residents and tourists - have a gay spa or bathhouse in the traditional sense of the word, like those you can find in larger Florida communities like Miami , Fort Lauderdale , and Orlando. The town's colorful historic district does, however, have a pair of men's clothing-optional gay resorts that welcome gay visitors, one of them with day passes available and the other attached to a highly popular gay nightclub. These aren't overly cruise-y beaches, but you can definitely still meet other gay guys in both places.
Key West Gay Bathhouses and Gay Beaches Guide
There are two schools of thought on Key West -- one is that it has become way too commercial, and the other is that it's still a place where you don't have to worry about being prim, proper, or even well-groomed. I think it's a bizarre fusion of both -- a fascinating look at small-town America where people truly live by the off beat of their own drum, albeit one with a Coach outlet, Banana Republic, Starbucks, and, most recently, a handful of multimillion-dollar condo developments, thrown in to bring you back to reality. The locals, or "conchs" pronounced conks , and the developers here have been at odds for years. This once low-key island has been thoroughly commercialized -- there's a Hard Rock Cafe smack in the middle of Duval Street, and thousands of cruise-ship passengers descend on Mallory Square each day.
